He is the winner of the Best International Menswear Designer Category of the Miami Fashion Week 2009 and has been nominated for the best designer MensWear at the LUX style awards for 7 years in a row.

The legendary Munib Nawaz is the founder of one of the most progressive clothing brands for men in Pakistan. During the fireside chat held at daftarkhwan | One, Munib Nawaz spoke about his journey of wanting to become a doctor to ending up becoming an entrepreneur, that to back in 2000 when the concept of entrepreneurship wasn’t very popular.

The advice his father gave him was something that resonated with us all — It’s your life either you make it or break it, you are the only one who will be held accountable for it”

Talking of his entrepreneurial journey, he says, working for Amir Adnan as an intern at the age of 16 gave him the tools he needed. “It was the most disciplining time for myself because I had to do everything for somebody else to ensure their growth and my growth as well.”

In 2001, he made a few shirts and sold them for 50 rupees to his close friends and his friends recommended him to hold an exhibition and that was that.

He held his first exhibition and created a frenzy and during college, he launched his brand and the very next day, he was everywhere.

Moving further into the talk, Munib discussed the critical role the 5ps of marketing played for his startup. Speaking of the most important p, ‘product’, he believes that the trouble lies with the products as they are not as well defined as they should be because the prime focus is on selling the product rather than on the product itself.

He also talked about the importance of collaboration, as he says, “Change will become inevitable when we begin forming intellectual infrastructure for entrepreneurs”. According to him, after a certain point every business is dependent on others for their growth.

Well, this is all you need to do. Order your favorite shirts, sherwani, suits and the list goes on from our very favorite, one and only Munib Nawaz.
